The courtyard and the weather (by Jonah)

The courtyard

We have a courtyard right outside our apartment.  This is what it looks like.

I play soccer in that courtyard when I’m bored of our apartment.  This is the soccer ball I use, but today the part of the soccer ball where some of the skin peeled off by accident hit the wall, so now that popped, so the ball went flat, and we don’t have a pump, so now we have to get a new one.  But this is the old one popped.

We bought it at a nearby store.  The part of China we’re in is hot all year, so we don’t need to worry about snow, or jackets, or anything like that.  Although all of our Chinese friends we know who speak English have been saying that this year is very weird and usually it’s much warmer.  But trust me.  Chinese people still wear jackets in 75 degrees.

    Hi Jonah,

Very nice writing on your blog. You have good writing skills. Keep telling us stories of your experiences in China on the blog. It is all very interesting. I hope you can get a new soccer ball.

In Mr. Mulvey’s class we are reading an interesting book from the WWII time period called “Number the Stars” by Lois Lowery. I hope you can find it. It’s a good one.

I think they are starting guitar in music class. I wish you could show them your Blues guitar skills. I think they will do it again next year, however.

I hope you are reading and keeping up on your math skills. Your writing is very good, and we love the pictures you post from China. Have fun and keep up the good work.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Luft

Mr. Pointer-Mace and I were wondering if you and your family felt any earthquake tremors when Japan had its terrible earthquakes?

Jonah, Thank goodness you are having milder weather there because when you get home you will have enough heat.
The courtyard is nice and big. Probably quite a luxury in China. Thats a sad looking soccer ball though. The wall in that courtyard looks like it would also be good for handball. Anyway its good your keeping active.
Love your posts. Can’t wait to see more.
    Love, Auntie Bettina
